FlowTransit exhibits at InnoTrans 2026, the world's largest transport technology fair
Berlin, Germany. FlowTransit exhibited at InnoTrans 2026, the world's largest trade fair for transport technology, presenting its AI planning software for bus networks in the fair's AI Mobility Lab. From 22 to 25 September, the fifteenth InnoTrans filled all 42 halls of the Berlin Exhibition Grounds, with 3,190 exhibitors from 59 countries and about 175,000 trade visitors.
FlowTransit took its place among the leading names in transport, with exhibitors including Siemens Mobility, Alstom, Stadler, Hitachi Rail, CAF, and CRRC, Deutsche Bahn, and Huawei, which launched its Intelligent RAIL 2.0 portfolio at the fair.
At the booth
The AI Mobility Lab is InnoTrans's dedicated showcase for artificial intelligence in mobility, and FlowTransit shared it with exhibitors including SNCF Réseau and Boston Consulting Group.
At the booth, visitors watched FlowTransit plan the bus network of Göttingen, a German city of about 120,000, live. A change to one line's frequency rescored the whole network on the spot, and the software proposed new network configurations for the city and compared each change with today's, line by line.
The video on the booth screen walked through the rest of the product. It showed a transit network's data brought together and visualized in layers, giving planners a clear picture of the network's health; optimizations generated against the objectives and constraints a planner sets, with the top configurations FlowTransit recommends; and the whole network updated in one go, with lines changed by drag and drop, extended, or added to serve new neighbourhoods. It also showed the bus network designed as a feeder to tram, train, and other rail lines.
Taking the stage at InnoTrans
On Thursday 24 September, Dalia Katan, CEO and co-founder of FlowTransit, presented "Transit Planning in the Age of AI and Big Data" in the fair's AI Mobility Corner.
The talk opened with the idea that every city has its own unique needs and priorities. Dublin is rebuilding its bus network in phases, and Paris is giving its streets over to bikes. Jerusalem reroutes lines around closures and holidays, while Austin is planning for a city with driverless cars. What they share are many unknowns about how cities and transportation will change over the next few decades.
Cities are also collecting more data about their transit networks than ever before, and there is enormous potential in putting all of it to work. Katan then looked at how AI and big data help planners meet each city's needs. Planning models are coming close to a digital twin of the city. Planners can see what a change will do across the whole network before it happens, whether that is a new headway on one line or a new district. Software can also propose complete networks within the limits planners set, and explain the reasoning behind every line.
"Cities collect more data today than ever before, and there is enormous potential in putting all of it to work. A model that holds far more of the real network comes much closer to a true simulation of the city. That means getting more people where they want to go, with fewer surprises on the street."
Through all of this, the planner still runs the process. The local knowledge that no dataset holds goes in as the rules, and the decision stays with the agency. Katan closed with a look at how transit and city planning could change over the next ten years, from autonomous vehicles coordinated across a city to networks that re-plan themselves when a road closes.

FlowTransit was one of the exhibitors featured on InnoTrans's fully booked guided AI Tours, which ran twice a day in German and English and took visitors to the companies across the fair presenting their work in artificial intelligence.
